Aurora State Rep. Naquetta Ricks Faces Complaint Over $21,525 in Unreported Campaign Donations

Friday, October 23, 2026 · City · GSM News

AURORA, Colorado — State Rep. Naquetta Ricks, who represents Aurora in Arapahoe County in the Denver metro area, is facing a campaign-finance complaint. Her Republican opponent, Clinton Porter, filed the complaint with the Colorado Secretary of State on October 22, alleging unreported campaign donations, The Denver Focal reported on October 23.

State campaign-finance records in the TRACER database show 42 contributions from political action committees, small-donor committees and leadership PACs run by Democratic colleagues — totaling $21,525 between December 2024 and October 14, 2026 — were reported by the donors as going to Ricks' campaign, with the largest a $6,200 contribution from Building a Stronger Colorado, a group aligned with carpenters. Yet all 14 reports filed by Ricks' campaign show zero contributions and zero spending for the current cycle, with nothing reported since the 2022–24 cycle. Ricks told a reporter her treasurer had been ill; asked how that explained multiple years without reporting, she ended the call.

The Secretary of State's deadline for an initial review of the complaint is November 5, after Election Day. The complaint is an allegation, not a finding of wrongdoing by the state. Ricks, a Democrat, is seeking a fourth and final term in the Colorado House.
