TAMPA, Florida — Professional wrestling legend Ric Flair was taken to a hospital by ambulance on Friday, October 23, after falling outside a Tampa restaurant in Hillsborough County, TMZ reported first, with Fox News and other outlets following.

According to the reports, the 77-year-old Flair got up from the bar at Tampa's Wagamama restaurant that morning, leaving his phone and drink behind, and fell suddenly while crossing the street, injuring his face. Sources said he cut his head and the area around his eye, which was bleeding extensively; a possible concussion has not been confirmed. His team had not released a further medical update as of publication.

Just hours earlier, Flair had posted on X apologizing to fans for canceling a planned appearance at Washington State Horror Con in Seattle because of a blood clot in his leg. He said doctors have restricted his travel to trips of three to four hours — Seattle is beyond that range — that he will undergo a vein-stripping procedure, and that blood clots are "extremely serious and can be life-threatening." Flair is a 16-time world champion and two-time WWE Hall of Famer who is currently signed with AEW.
