West Virginia Wins Over $6.4 Million in ARC Investment; Manufacturing Training Corridor Funded
West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) will invest more than $6.4 million in the state. The funding is part of ARC's fiscal 2025 POWER initiative, under which 11 West Virginia projects received more than $12.5 million in total.
About $2 million of the POWER funding will support a manufacturing training corridor jointly developed by BridgeValley Community and Technical College and WVU Parkersburg to prepare skilled workers for local manufacturers.
Project leaders including Brad D. Smith, Terrell Ellis and Cody Tomblin said the investments will help West Virginia's coal-impacted communities with economic transition and workforce training.
