Oracle's Project Jupiter Awards Nearly $1 Billion in Contracts to New Mexico Businesses

Oracle announced on October 23 new construction workforce and contracting milestones for Project Jupiter in southern New Mexico: as of September 30, 2026, the project had awarded more than $994 million in contracts to 30 New Mexico firms, with more than $160 million already paid, covering HVAC, insulation, plumbing, electrical services, sanitation and construction equipment rentals.
To date, 1,230 New Mexico residents work on the project, including 630 from Doña Ana County, where it is located; 1,846 union members across trades have contributed, and project workers have completed more than 3.75 million labor hours. The project has generated more than $100 million in state and county tax revenue to date and is projected to deliver more than $13 billion in long-term economic impact. "This is what responsible development looks like," said Mahesh Thiagarajan, president of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Oracle said the facility's closed-loop cooling and fuel cell systems will use non-potable water for startup and maintenance; the project pairs a $50 million commitment for Doña Ana County water infrastructure with a goal of matching operations with 100 percent carbon-free energy by 2031. The company noted its commitments and projections assume the air permit and pipeline are approved as planned.
