Nation's Leading Receiver Legree Announces Return to Oregon State for 2027
Oregon State freshman wide receiver Jesse Legree has officially re-signed with the Beavers and will return for the 2027 season, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported on October 23, ending speculation about his future. Through seven games, Legree has 46 catches for 1,040 yards and 14 touchdowns, leading the nation in receiving yards, touchdown catches and receiving yards per game (148.6).
Legree was only a three-star recruit out of Baltimore, ranked No. 1,713 in the 247Sports Composite, with offers from Buffalo, Temple and Pittsburgh, among others. In each of his first seven games he has had at least four catches and 100 yards and has scored in every game, including eight catches for 240 yards and two touchdowns against Texas Tech in Week 2.
Head coach JaMarcus Shephard, also in his first year, is rebuilding the program after the other Pac-12 schools left for the Big Ten, and Legree's return is a major boost to that effort.
