Denver Designates the Stonehouse in Capitol Hill as a City Landmark

The Denver City Council voted on October 19 to designate the Stonehouse, at 740 North Washington Street in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, as a Denver landmark, and the mayor approved the designation on October 21.
The Stonehouse is a Queen Anne-style Victorian residence tied to the development of Capitol Hill, with a period of significance identified as 1891 to 2005.
Under the designation, most work on the building's exterior must first pass landmark design review, while interior renovations remain exempt.
