Prime Video announced on October 22 that the horror series 'Carrie' has been renewed for a second season. Mike Flanagan returns as showrunner and executive producer, alongside executive producer Stephen King. Adapted from King's 1974 novel, the series stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie White and Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White. All eight episodes of the first season are streaming on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.

According to Prime Video, 'Carrie' debuted on October 7 and quickly hit No. 1 on the service in 105 countries. Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, said the series is connecting with longtime Stephen King fans and a new generation alike, with particular strength among female viewers, signaling real breadth for Flanagan's reimagining of the iconic property.

'For 50 years, audiences have known and gravitated to Carrie White's story. From the beginning, we imagined a story that goes far beyond the prom, and I'm incredibly grateful for Stephen's trust and support in exploring what comes next,' Flanagan said. King added: 'I can't wait for audiences to get to see what's down the road for Carrie White. Mike Flanagan and I are excited about what comes next. It's bound to be thrilling.' No premiere date or production schedule for the second season has been announced.
