Some Irvine Athletic Fields Closed Oct. 23 Due to Weather; City Urges Checking Muddline Before Heading Out

The City of Irvine in Orange County, California, issued an updated Muddline field-status report at 1 p.m. on Oct. 23: due to weather, some athletic fields were closed that day, with field-by-field open or closed status published on the city's Muddline page.
Field status is updated on a fixed weekday schedule: by 1 p.m. for high-school-use fields and by 3 p.m. for youth and adult sports; on weekends, updates begin at 7:30 a.m. and continue as weather conditions change.
The city reminds residents and teams to check field status before heading out: visit cityofirvine.org/mudd for field-by-field status, call 949-724-6833 (MUDD) for a recorded update, or follow the city's Muddline social media accounts. Great Park field status is also available by calling 949-724-6598 or checking the Great Park field status page.
Fields are identified by number for baseball and softball diamonds and by letter for soccer, lacrosse, and football fields; fields on school sites follow status published by the Irvine Unified School District.
