Portland Timbers Host Charlotte on October 24 in a Key Match for Playoff Position
At 10:30 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, October 24, the Portland Timbers of Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, host Charlotte FC at Providence Park, with the match on Apple TV. It is one of Major League Soccer's Round 32 fixtures and another key home game in Portland's season. The Timbers sit low in the Western Conference while Charlotte is mid-table in the East; both need points — Portland to improve its position at home, Charlotte to protect a playoff place. Portland's top scorer is Kristoffer Velde with 8 goals and 29 shots on target; Ariel Lassiter follows with 6; David Pereira da Costa is the creative hub with 28 chances created and 7 assists. For Charlotte, Idan Gorno leads with 13 goals, and Pep Biel pairs 12 goals with 7 assists. The 7:30 p.m. Pacific kickoff suits local fans, and Providence Park's atmosphere has long been a Timbers asset.
