Georgia Tech Falls 49-27 to Boston College: Halftime Lead Erased by Ground Game

Saturday, October 24, 2026 · City · GSM News

On the afternoon of October 24, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, in Fulton County in Atlanta, Georgia, lost 49-27 to the Boston College Eagles at Bobby Dodd Stadium, in a game televised by the ACC Network with a 3:30 p.m. Eastern kickoff. The first half was tight and Georgia Tech led 13-12 at the break: an offensive pass interference call forced a Boston College punt that was returned to the 38, and after the Jackets were stopped at the 1-yard line, kicker Aidan Birr's field goal sent the home team into the locker room up by one. The second half was all Boston College, which outscored Georgia Tech 13-0 in the third quarter and 24-14 in the fourth: running backs McKenzie and MacCormack combined for 325 rushing yards and five touchdowns, and cornerback Charlie Comella intercepted two passes, returning one for a touchdown. Georgia Tech scored twice late, including a touchdown pass by quarterback Grady Adamson, but it was not enough. Boston College improves to 4-3 (2-2 ACC), while Georgia Tech falls to 2-5 (1-3 ACC) as its hopes of stopping the slide at home slipped away.
