The 40th AIA Austin Homes Tour Opens on October 24

On Saturday, October 24, the 40th annual AIA Austin Homes Tour opened in Austin, Travis County, Texas, running through Sunday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. One of the best-known architect association home tours in the country, this year's self-guided tour presents nine homes of varied styles, both newly built and renovated, designed by local firms including Weber Studio, Murray Legge Architecture and DK Studio. Tickets come in two tiers, $50 for general admission and $125 for VIP, and visitors can follow the tour map from house to house to see the latest work of Austin architects. Held every fall, the tour is a key window for local architecture lovers and homebuyers to track design trends and usually draws large crowds. For residents planning a renovation or a new build, walking through the homes is more direct than reading plans, offering a feel for light, layout and materials. Organizers advise visitors to confirm each home's opening arrangements in advance and plan their two-day route.
