Voting Opens for the Voice of Logan: Cape Cod Bartender Among Eight Finalists

Public voting for the “Voice of Logan” contest at Boston Logan International Airport, in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, opened on Saturday, October 24 and runs through Wednesday, October 28; the winner's recording will become the airport announcement voice heard by millions of travelers each year. Kristin Ingala of South Dennis, on Cape Cod, is one of the eight finalists. A two-time New England Golden Gloves boxing champion, she trains in Hyannis and works as a bartender at the Chatham Squire in Chatham. Massport, the contest organizer, said the eight finalists were chosen from nearly 6,000 entries, and the public can listen to each finalist's sample recordings and vote at VoiceofLogan.com. Ingala's run has drawn hometown attention on Cape Cod, with supporters praising a voice that mixes a boxer's power with a bartender's warmth. Logan is New England's busiest airport, and the Voice of Logan contest is held every few years to find a new voice representing Boston; the winner will be announced after voting closes.
