NAVFAC Hawaii Lays Out Infrastructure Priorities at Industry Exchange, Calls for Industry Partnership

Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Hawaii has released the infrastructure priorities it presented at a recent industry exchange (PBX Hawaii) and called for stronger industry partnership to meet growing construction demand. Command representative Aaron Darley said at the event that, to meet rising demand, the command is advancing accelerated design-build delivery, modular construction and bundling related projects, and is exploring opportunities to move design work forward before construction funding is approved. Darley also said the command is working to share clearer project planning information through its public website, including anticipated project value ranges and procurement strategies, noting that while details may change, sharing current plans early helps partners understand upcoming work. NAVFAC Hawaii provides architecture, engineering and contracting capability to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps and serves as the Department of Defense's construction agent in the islands. The exchange also gave government employees a chance to learn about the latest products, practices and issues shaping the local industry.
