Saturday, October 24, 2026 · States · GSM News

According to an Oct. 23 report in the Topeka Capital-Journal, the Kansas Democratic Party announced a statewide bus tour this weekend as part of its get-out-the-vote effort, featuring the party's leading candidates for statewide office. The tour departs Topeka at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 24 from Shawnee County Democratic Headquarters at Southwest 17th Street and Fairlawn Road. Other stops on Oct. 24 and 25 include Abilene, Hays, Dodge City, Wichita, Pittsburg and Lenexa, for seven stops in total. Democrats expected to take part include gubernatorial candidate Cindy Holsher, attorney general candidate Chris Mann, secretary of state candidate Jennifer Day, insurance commissioner candidate Dinah Sykes and state treasurer candidate Juan Luengo; the state party did not say whether candidates for federal office would join. State party chair Jenna Repass said in a statement that Democrats across Kansas are energized by the ticket, that candidates have been meeting voters across the state, and that the "Forward Together" bus tour is a chance for statewide candidates to make their final pitch to Kansans and thank the volunteers doing voter mobilization work on the ground. The Democratic tour follows a week-long Republican tour last week. Kansas' general election is Nov. 3.
