New Mexico Governor's Residence Hosts Fall Fest on Oct. 24: Free for Families Statewide, Registration Required
New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham will host the annual Fall Fest at the Governor's Residence in Santa Fe on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., free for families statewide, with advance registration required. Hosted by the Governor's Office together with several state agencies, the event features games, crafts, live music, face painting, fishing and tennis lessons, small-animal encounters, prize drawings and plenty of food and fall treats; children will also have a chance to dance with the governor and enjoy live performances throughout. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween costumes, whether spooky, funny or creative. Spanish and American Sign Language interpretation will be provided throughout the event for families of different language backgrounds. The New Mexico Department of Early Childhood Education and Care posted the invitation on social media, calling it a free afternoon of family fun, learning and celebration. The Fall Fest has become a fall family tradition in Santa Fe, with the Governor's Residence opening its doors to the public at this time each year so families from across the state can meet state agencies in a relaxed setting.
