Indiana Edges Michigan 13-6 in Overtime, First Road Win There Since 1967

Saturday, October 24, 2026 · States · GSM News

On October 24, No. 6 Indiana survived a defensive battle on the road, beating Michigan 13-6 in overtime for a milestone victory. Both offenses struggled all game — remarkably, regulation produced no touchdowns, with field goals leaving the score tied 6-6. Indiana barely threw the ball in the second half, relying entirely on its defense and ground game to stay level.

Michigan hit a field goal in the final moments of regulation to force overtime. In the extra period, Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover completed a 21-yard pass to the 4-yard line and then ran it in himself for the game's first touchdown. When Michigan got the ball, Indiana's defense held through several plays and stopped the Wolverines on fourth down to seal the win.

It is Indiana's first win at Michigan's stadium since 1967, ending a decades-long road drought in the series. A week earlier, Indiana had lost to Ohio State, ending a 22-game winning streak; this win stops the slide and keeps the Hoosiers in the Big Ten title race.
