Kansas Stuns Baylor 25-24 at Home, Blocks Late Field Goal to Save Homecoming Win

On October 24, Kansas hosted its homecoming game in Lawrence and edged Baylor 25-24, ending a two-game losing streak with a thrilling win. The finish was dramatic: with under two minutes left in the fourth quarter, Kansas quarterback Isaiah Marshall ran for a 15-yard touchdown to put the Jayhawks ahead 25-24.
Baylor then drove into position for a potential game-winning field goal. With 18 seconds left, Baylor attempted a 45-yard kick, but the Kansas defense blocked it to preserve the hard-earned victory. Kansas had trailed much of the game — Baylor led 24-19 with 2:40 remaining — before Kansas drove 71 yards in the final 1:20 for the winning score.
The win means a great deal to head coach Lance Leipold's team, which had lost two straight and faced uncertain bowl-eligibility prospects. Homecoming fans witnessed the comeback firsthand, and the team regains confidence and momentum for the rest of the season.
