LSU Routs Auburn 38-17 as Leavitt Accounts for Four Touchdowns

On October 24, the LSU Tigers rolled to a 38-17 road win over Auburn, avoiding the fate of Georgia, which had earlier been upset by Auburn. Quarterback Sam Leavitt turned in one of his best performances since transferring to LSU, accounting for four touchdowns.
Playing through a hamstring issue, Leavitt completed 32 of 45 passes for 387 yards and three touchdowns, and added 54 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Wide receiver Jackson Harris was his most reliable target, catching nine passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns, including a 70-yard bomb in the second quarter.
LSU built its lead in the first half and stretched it after the break to win by 21 points. Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown was tightly contained and the Tigers' ground game never got going. The win continues LSU's rebound from an earlier loss to Kentucky, with two straight high-scoring outings signaling a team rounding into form.
