Crossville Holds Alzheimer's Walk With Pet Parade and Band Performances

On the morning of October 24, 2026, Crossville, Tennessee, held an Alzheimer's-themed community walk, with residents gathering at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church to cheer on patients and their caregivers. The event ran from 10 a.m. to noon at 565 East 10th Street in Crossville. A pet parade opened the festivities at 10 a.m., drawing many families with their animals; singer Jackson Carter performed at 10:15; from 10:45 there were cake walks, games and Jeep rides; at 11 a.m. the Crossville High School band arrived, performed at 11:15, and then led all participants out on the walk at 11:45.
Popcorn, cotton candy and hot dogs were served, and a prize drawing offered tickets to Dollywood and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Organizers said the event was open to residents of all ages and physical abilities, with on-site registration available.
Alzheimer's disease affects thousands of families across Tennessee, and community walks like this raise funds and awareness while showing patients' families the support of their neighbors. Organizers hoped the relaxed, friendly atmosphere would draw more people out to gather and express, step by step, their companionship for patients and caregivers.
