Baton Rouge High School Quarterback Haven Breaks Louisiana Career Passing Touchdown Record on the Night of October 23

Saturday, October 24, 2026 · States · GSM News

On the night of October 23, Elijah Haven, quarterback at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, made history: in his team’s 55-6 win over Episcopal, his third-quarter touchdown pass became the 147th passing touchdown of his career, breaking the state record of 145 set by Brock Berlin of Evangel Christian Academy from 1997 to 1999. Haven threw five touchdowns that night in a standout performance.

He had missed time this season with an injury and did not return until last week’s 35-6 win over Donaldsonville, in which he threw three touchdown passes and ran for another touchdown; he has played in four games this season, with 12 passing touchdowns in total (eight in the two games since his return). Last year, Haven already set the Louisiana career record for combined passing and rushing touchdowns, and that total is now just three short of 200.

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound dual-threat quarterback has been committed to the University of Alabama since April 25 and ranks No. 23 nationally, the No. 2 quarterback and No. 4 in the state in the latest composite rankings.
