Emporia State Women’s Volleyball Beats Central Missouri 3-1 on the Road on October 24, Led by Krizanic’s 16 Kills
On the afternoon of October 24, the 13th-ranked Emporia State University women’s volleyball team beat the University of Central Missouri 3-1 on the road in Warrensburg, Missouri, for its fourth straight win, all in four sets, by scores of 25-21, 25-20, 24-26 and 25-20.
Emporia State hit .283 for the match, with four players in double figures in kills: Lavra Krizanic led the team with 16, while Piper Barr, Maja Josek and Jade Xu had 13, 12 and 11 respectively; Brelly Bogel and Delaney Dexter combined for 54 assists.
In the first set, Emporia State opened with a 7-3 lead, Central Missouri pulled level, but the visitors pulled away late to take the set; in the second set, the visitors scored five of six points after a timeout to establish control; in the third set, Central Missouri hit .324 to pull one back; in the fourth set, Emporia State opened 9-5, and after Central Missouri closed to within one point, the visitors regained control and closed out the match 25-20.
