Apple Retakes the World's Top Market Cap at About $5.12 Trillion, Passing Nvidia on iPhone Duo Launch Day

Apple shares traded above $351 on Friday, October 23, setting a new intraday record, as the company's market capitalization rose to about $5.12 trillion, passing Nvidia to make Apple once again the world's most valuable publicly traded company. Nvidia and Google follow behind. (Reported by 9to5Mac)
Friday was also the global release date for the iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable iPhone, priced from $2,000. GSM previously reported that first-day store stock sold out in New York and elsewhere, and that Apple's market value first closed above $5 trillion on October 15, when it was the second company after Nvidia to reach that mark.
The change at the top came on launch day: with the stock at record highs, Apple moved back ahead of Nvidia. Market-cap rankings move with daily share prices, and the order will continue to depend on both companies' stock performance.
