Saturday, October 24, 2026 · Federal · GSM News

Washington — The U.S. Department of State on October 24 released a statement by Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulating the government and people of Kazakhstan as the country celebrates Republic Day on October 25.

The statement said U.S.-Kazakhstan relations are at their strongest point in history as the two countries mark 35 years of bilateral relations. The two countries are working together to strengthen regional security, expand economic cooperation, and create new commercial opportunities pairing Kazakh ambition with American innovation to benefit both nations, it said.

The statement added that the United States values Kazakhstan's role as a diplomatic leader and a strong supporter of President Trump's peace initiatives, and looks forward to growing the partnership in the year ahead, both bilaterally and through joint work in the C5+1 format — the diplomatic platform linking the United States with Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Republic Day is a national holiday in Kazakhstan commemorating the declaration of state sovereignty adopted on October 25, 1990.
