Texas Coach Sarkisian Calls Out Ticket Sellers After Win Over Ole Miss: 'They Missed a Hell of a Game'

Sunday, October 25, 2026 · City · GSM News

On October 25, after the University of Texas Longhorns beat No. 7 Ole Miss 34-27, head coach Steve Sarkisian made a point in his postgame press conference of calling out fans who had resold their tickets: "They missed a hell of a game." Attendance at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium that night reached 104,306, above the stadium's official capacity and the fourth-highest crowd in its history. Sarkisian thanked the fans who came for their passion, while teasing those who stayed away.

The game was full of swings; at the decisive moment, quarterback Arch Manning scored on a fake-handoff keeper to seal the win. Running back Larick Brown rushed for 157 yards to lead the ground attack. Texas overcame three turnovers and 121 penalty yards to take the key victory and stop a two-game losing streak.

Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss was intercepted three times, including on the final drive. Sarkisian concluded that the team had shown "Texas fight and Texas pride," and that the win carried the same weight as September's victory over Ohio State.
