Bulls Rookie Wilson Scores 30 Points and 14 Rebounds in Home Opener; His 67 Points Over Three Games Trail Only Jordan

Sunday, October 25, 2026 · City · GSM News

Chicago, Illinois — Chicago Bulls rookie Caleb Wilson posted a double-double of 30 points and 14 rebounds in the team's home opener on Saturday, October 24, and although the Bulls lost 124–120 to the Washington Wizards, Wilson's performance was the story of the night. Wilson has scored 67 points over the first three games of his career, the second-highest total by a Bulls rookie in his first three games, behind only Michael Jordan's 74. His scoring in his first two games — 16 points and 21 points — exactly matched Jordan's first two games of his rookie season. Like Jordan, Wilson comes from the University of North Carolina; Jordan was selected third overall by the Bulls in the 1984 draft, while Wilson joined Chicago as the fourth overall pick in 2026. Despite the home-opening loss, Wilson's emergence has given fans reason for hope, and the Bulls are counting on the young player, widely seen as a future cornerstone of the franchise, to sustain his hot start. An All-America second-team selection in college, Wilson is adapting quickly to the professional game, and his first three performances have already put him in the same conversation as Jordan.
