The San Antonio Spurs beat the Dallas Mavericks 122-106 on Saturday night, October 24, at American Airlines Center in Dallas, earning their first win of the 2026-27 season and avoiding their first 0-3 start since 2008-09. Victor Wembanyama had 23 points, seven rebounds and four blocks, Dylan Harper added 22 points, and De'Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle scored 19 apiece.

The Spurs squandered a 14-point lead in the third quarter but opened the fourth with a 17-5 run and won the period 30-17 to seal the game; they grabbed 15 offensive rebounds and outscored Dallas 25-10 on second-chance points. For the Mavericks, rookie Sergio De Larrea came off the bench to lead the team with 21 points, while the five starters combined for just 50 points, with P.J. Washington's 12 the most among them.

Dallas was without two core players: Cooper Flagg, last season's Rookie of the Year, missed the game with a shoulder injury suffered against Indiana and will be re-evaluated next week, and nine-time All-Star Kyrie Irving rested on the second night of a back-to-back. The Spurs next host Sacramento on Tuesday, while the Mavericks visit Miami on Monday.
