United Puts Brand-New 787-9 Dreamliner on Houston–Tokyo Route With 99 Premium Seats

Houston, Texas — United Airlines has deployed a brand-new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on its Houston–Tokyo Narita route, with an upgraded cabin interior that substantially improves the travel experience on this important trans-Pacific route. The new aircraft made its first flight from Houston on October 24, with the Tokyo-bound service following on October 25, coinciding with the start of the Northern Hemisphere winter schedule. The aircraft seats 222 passengers, of whom 99 — about 45 percent of all seats — are in the Polaris business class and Premium Plus premium economy cabins combined, underscoring United's tilt toward premium travelers on long-haul routes. The Houston–Tokyo route is operated as flight UA7, with the return as UA6, linking George Bush Intercontinental Airport with Tokyo Narita International Airport. The refreshed cabin features redesigned suite-style business class seats, improved economy seating and upgraded entertainment systems throughout. For business and leisure travelers flying between Texas and Japan, the new aircraft means a more comfortable long-haul option, and it reflects United's continued investment in the trans-Pacific market.
