North Carolina State Fair Closes on Sunday, Oct. 25, With More Than 810,000 Visits Over 11 Days

The North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh wrapped up its run on October 25. According to local station WNCN, the 11-day fair had drawn daily crowds of nearly 82,000 and a cumulative total of about 817,852 visits before the final day, though this year's overall attendance may fall short of 2025. The report noted that higher gas prices and vendor prices drew attention as factors weighing on turnout.
Held at the state fairgrounds in Raleigh, the fair features agricultural exhibits, livestock competitions, rides, traditional crafts and local food. It is one of the largest public events in the Triangle each fall and drives business for nearby hotels, restaurants and transport. As usual, organizers closed out the full program on the final day, with preparations for the next edition to follow.
For Triangle residents, the state fair is both a fixture of fall family outings and a showcase of North Carolina's farming and rural traditions. Although attendance did not match last year's, daily crowds of more than 80,000 still showed the drawing power of the century-old event.
