46th Arkansas Scottish Festival Wraps Up Oct. 25 in Batesville Alongside Lyon College Homecoming

On October 25, ScotsFest, the 46th Arkansas Scottish Festival, concluded on the Lyon College campus in Batesville, Arkansas. The three-day celebration, which opened on October 23 alongside Lyon College Homecoming, was presented by Lyon College and Experience Independence; general admission was free, with only certain alumni events ticketed.
Founded in 1979, the Arkansas Scottish Festival is a long-running celebration of Scottish culture, featuring bagpipe performances, Highland athletics, clan displays and sheepdog demonstrations. Two new family events debuted in 2026: the Lil' Highlanders Tea Party for children on October 24, and the first ScotsFest Fishing Derby, held at 1 p.m. on October 25 at Bryan Lake on campus. The festival closed with the traditional Kirkin' o' the Tartan service, bringing the three days of festivities — and Lyon College's homecoming week — to a close.
