Two Mississippi Museums in Jackson Open Free on Oct. 25 as Free Sunday Returns

On October 25, the Two Mississippi Museums in Jackson marked another Free Sunday, opening to the public free of charge from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The two museums — the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and the Museum of Mississippi History — offer free admission every Sunday. The Civil Rights Museum tells the story of Mississippi's role in the civil rights movement, while the History Museum presents the state's development from its earliest days to the present. The museums say Free Sundays are meant to lower the barrier to visiting, encouraging more families and students to come in and learn about the state's history. Both museums are located in the downtown Jackson museum district, making them a good fit for family outings and school study trips.
