Chicago: AAPI Lantern Market 'Lanterns and Legends' on Oct. 25
On October 25, Chicago hosted the "Lanterns and Legends" fall AAPI market, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Uni Uni and Haibayo, with free admission. Themed on Asian folklore, myths and legends, the market was lit with lanterns and gathered local Asian artists, makers and food stalls selling works and Asian-inspired snacks inspired by legendary creatures, moon deities, spirits and celestial stories. The organizer also ran a stamp-collecting activity, encouraging visitors to collect stamps with purchases at different stalls to redeem small gifts, and welcomed families to come in mythology- or Halloween-themed costumes to share the autumn community atmosphere.
