Sunday, October 25, 2026 · City · GSM News

On October 25, the Black Farmers Market was held in Raleigh, one of the regular sessions of the market that rotates between Raleigh and Durham. The market aims to support Black farmers and Black-owned businesses, and welcomes all residents who wish to support or connect with Black farms and enterprises. According to the organizer, Black farmers have historically faced lending discrimination and funding shortages, and the market helps these family farms survive and grow through collective selling and community connection. The October 25 session was in Raleigh, and the next will be held on November 1 in Durham; residents could buy farm products on site and learn the stories of the local Black agricultural community.
