Dallas's Hong Kong Market Night Market Closes on October 25: A Free 40th-Anniversary Night Market for a Chinese Community Landmark

On October 25, Asia Times Square in the Dallas area welcomed the final day of the 40th annual Hong Kong Market Night Market, a free-entry event held since October 23 to celebrate Hong Kong Market Place's 40 years of serving the community. Hong Kong Market Place is a family-owned Chinese grocery store that has been a shopping staple for Dallas's Chinese community for four decades; organizers said the night market was a way to thank the shoppers, tenants and neighbors who have supported it over the years. The market brought the atmosphere of Asia's famous night markets to Dallas, with food stalls and performances, plus 40th-anniversary in-store specials. Asia Times Square, in Grand Prairie, is a hub of Chinese commerce and culture in the Dallas area, and the three-day free night market made for a family weekend evening out in the community's festive spirit.
