Dallas Stars Host the Islanders on October 25: Both Teams Come Off 3-2 Overtime Decisions on Thursday
At 5 p.m. Central on October 25, the Dallas Stars hosted the New York Islanders at the American Airlines Center in the teams' first meeting of the season. Both clubs played overtime games on Thursday, October 22, each decided 3-2: the Islanders fell to the Los Angeles Kings, while the Stars beat the Winnipeg Jets, and both have started the season well. Last season the Islanders won both meetings, each decided at the very end, 3-2 in November and 2-1 in March. Notably, in last season's first meeting, a hit by Stars forward Mikko Rantanen caused a season-ending injury to Islanders defenseman Alexander Romanov; this was the teams' first meeting since that incident, and the on-ice battle was expected to be especially intense. The game was available on television and streaming platforms, and Dallas fans could attend on Sunday evening.
