Sacramento Kings Host the Grizzlies on the Night of October 25, Looking for a First Win After an 0-2 Start

On the night of October 25, the Sacramento Kings hosted the Memphis Grizzlies at the Golden 1 Center, with tip-off at 9 p.m. Eastern. The Grizzlies had won their first two games, beating the Utah Jazz and the Golden State Warriors; the Kings were 0-2, having lost 96-121 to the Clippers and 120-128 to Portland, conceding 124.5 points per game with defense their biggest weakness. Memphis allowed only 105.5 points per game, with a net rating of plus-11.8 per 100 possessions against Sacramento's minus-16.2, and made 14 three-pointers per game to the Kings' eight. Grizzlies center Zach Edey was out for ankle injury management, a break for Sacramento's frontcourt. With the teams in contrasting form, the Kings needed to raise their defensive intensity from the opening tip, and sustain the 120-point offense of their previous game, to earn a first win of the season in front of their home fans.
