Opera Mississippi Holds Free Chorus Auditions in Jackson on October 25; Singers May Bring Scores or Audition by Video
Opera Mississippi held chorus recruitment auditions on October 24 and 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Mississippi Arts Center in Jackson (201 East Pascagoula Street, next to Thalia Mara Hall), with October 25 the second session. Auditions are free and open across multiple categories.
Organizers say singers need not perform from memory and may bring sheet music or an accompaniment recording; those unable to attend may submit a video audition. The new season includes Rossini's Stabat Mater (March 23, 2027), Carols & Classics (December 18, 2026), and The Barber of Seville (May 22, 2027), and selected singers will perform in the new season.
