Arkansas State Beats Georgia State 38-32 as Quarterback Owens Accounts for Four Touchdowns and 309 Yards

Sunday, October 25, 2026 · States · GSM News

On the night of October 24, Arkansas State beat Georgia State 38-32 at home in Jonesboro, handing the Panthers their second straight loss. Georgia State fell behind by 17 points and rallied late but could not complete the comeback, dropping to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the Sun Belt.

Arkansas State quarterback Trey Owens threw for 309 yards and accounted for four touchdowns, operating with a comfortable pocket for most of the night. For Georgia State, starting quarterback Cameran Brown left with an injury after a second-quarter touchdown pass and did not return; backup Ayden Pereira led scoring drives on four of eight possessions, but the Panthers came up empty on their first three drives and could not slow the Red Wolves defensively.

Arkansas State scored on nearly every second-half possession and would have made it five straight scoring drives if not for a missed field goal. The win steadies Arkansas State in the conference race, while Georgia State must fix its defensive leaks.
