Sunday, October 25, 2026 · States · GSM News

On the night of October 24, Texas beat Ole Miss 34-27 at home in Austin. Texas built a 24-3 halftime lead, but Ole Miss stormed back with 21 unanswered points to tie the game. Quarterback Arch Manning then led a six-play, 80-yard drive and ran in a touchdown — his second rushing touchdown of the game — to put Texas back in front.

Ole Miss got one last chance with an onside kick recovery and drove inside the Texas 30, but its final pass was intercepted in the end zone, and Texas held on. Manning was also intercepted twice in the game.

The Texas Longhorns built a 24-3 first-half lead before Ole Miss rallied to tie the game at 24-24. At the key moment, quarterback Arch Manning led an 80-yard drive in just six plays, scoring himself on a 1-yard run. It came at a price: according to an ESPN reporter on October 25, left tackle Trevor Goosby injured his knee in the Ole Miss game and will miss the rest of the season.
