McConnell Air Force Base air show continues October 25 in Wichita, Thunderbirds headline
On October 25, the 'Frontiers in Flight' air show at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas, entered its second day, with aerial performances starting at 1:00 p.m. and free admission and parking. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds headlined, alongside the Blue Wings parachute team, aerobatic performances, and a joint flyover by KC-135 and KC-46 tankers. Organizers said this will be the last air show appearance of McConnell's KC-135 tankers before the base completes its transition to the KC-46 in 2027, giving the weekend a farewell note. The show ran October 24-25, with gates opening at 9:00 a.m. and a mix of ground displays and flying performances drawing families from Wichita and the surrounding region. Organizers advised checking the official website before traveling, as schedules and entry details could change. McConnell Air Force Base is a major Air Force installation in Kansas, and the air show is one of the region's signature public events each fall.
