South Anchorage Beats West Anchorage 14-6 Again to Repeat as Alaska Division I High School Football Champion

South Anchorage High School defeated West Anchorage High School 14-6 on October 24 in the Alaska Division I high school football final at Colony High School, winning the state's largest-classification championship for the second straight year.
Ethan Arrington scored both of South Anchorage's touchdowns and was the decisive figure in the final. South Anchorage is the first team to repeat at the state's top level since Dimond High School in 2000 and 2001, and the title is the school's fifth state championship. In the final, South Anchorage's defense held off a West Anchorage comeback and protected the eight-point lead to the end.
High school football media noted that the repeat title continues South Anchorage's strong run in recent years and brings the Alaska high school football season to a close. Both teams are from the city of Anchorage.
