University of North Alabama Beach Volleyball Wraps Up Central Qualifier With 17 Wins
The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team wrapped up its fall season on October 25 at the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Central qualifying tournament in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama, winning 17 matches across the qualifying and open divisions.
Sophomore Carsyn Griffin and junior Paige Griner led the way, tying for the team lead with four wins in the qualifying division and finishing ninth overall. The first three rounds of the qualifying division were played on October 24, with all three North Alabama pairs advancing to the 9th-through-12th-place playoffs. Griffin and Griner beat two teammate pairs in the playoffs, winning the all-North Alabama ninth-place final 2-1, while Ella Lomax and Mabry Whitehead finished tenth.
In the open division, seniors Hope Deakin and Amelia Tomlinson, sophomore Emma White and freshman Claire Wyma went 3-0 on October 24 to win their pool. On October 25, freshman Nadia Priditis, Tomlinson, Wyma and freshman Emerson Weaver went 1-1 to finish second in their pool. The university said the tournament brought the team's fall season to a close.
