The No. 2-ranked UConn women's basketball team comfortably beat Army on October 25 in its final preseason exhibition, rounding into form ahead of the new season. UConn recorded 15 steals, forced 22 turnovers and converted them into 31 points while controlling the game throughout.

Jana El Alfy opened the scoring from the free-throw line, Strong followed with 10 straight points including a three-pointer, Heckel scored on a fast-break layup and Shade hit consecutive threes as the lead quickly grew. In the second half, Tadd scored five straight points to steady the team; despite two Army runs, UConn kept the lead above 20, and consecutive baskets by Olivia Vukosa stretched it to 30.

Jovana Popovic made her unofficial Gampel Pavilion debut, finishing with 10 points, four assists and two steals in 26 minutes. Discussing the preseason, player El Alfy said this year's preseason opponents were stronger than last October's, which helps the team prepare for the regular season. It was UConn's ninth public exhibition win since returning to the Big East. The regular season opens November 2, when UConn faces Cornell in Hartford.
