Crossings Church Senior Pastor Announces Retirement in Oklahoma City After 45 Years of Ministry

Marty Grubbs, senior pastor of Crossings Community Church, a large congregation in Oklahoma City, announced his retirement to the congregation on October 25, ending a ministry career spanning 45 years.
According to The Oklahoman's report on October 25, Grubbs will become senior pastor emeritus after he retires. A statement on the church's website said: "After 45 incredible years of leading Crossings, Marty has thoughtfully, prayerfully prepared for the next chapter." According to a Q&A posted on the church's website, a member of the elders will announce on November 1 the elders' unanimous choice for the next senior pastor; the congregation will then have two weeks to get to know the candidate before voting on November 15.
The church's main campus is located near the intersection of Memorial Road and Portland Avenue and includes Crossings Christian School, which opened in 2005 as a ministry of the church. During Grubbs's tenure, the church also launched several satellite campuses, carried out prison ministry in 25 prisons, and set up a community clinic and a community center. The Grubbs family will remain at the church, and as pastor emeritus he will still preach occasionally, while the church's day-to-day operations and decisions will be handled by the leadership team.
