PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 Day 1: NAVI Beat G2 2-0, TYLOO Fall 0-2 to FUT as $1.25M CS2 Swiss Stage Opens
The PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 opened on October 24 in Bucharest, Romania, with 16 Counter-Strike 2 teams competing for a $1,250,000 prize pool. All eight best-of-three series in the first Swiss round were completed on day one: NAVI, FURIA, Vitality, Liquid, BetBoom, The MongolZ, Nemiga and FUT opened with wins to reach the 1-0 pool, while China's TYLOO lost 0-2 to FUT and joined Spirit, MOUZ, Aurora, Legacy, 9z, G2 and DENDELE in the 0-1 pool.
The headline match closed the day. NAVI and G2 played each other's usual ban maps, Nuke and Dust2, and NAVI edged Nuke 13-11 before Dust2 went to a third overtime, ending 22-19 for a 2-0 series win. Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov led the server with 54 kills, 34 deaths and 75 ADR.
Upsets followed elsewhere. Liquid reverse-swept MOUZ 2-1, dropping Ancient 13-16 before winning Inferno 16-12 and Mirage 13-11, with Georgi "Jorko" Mitev posting 54 kills. BetBoom also came back to beat favorites Spirit 2-1: after losing Anubis 10-13, BetBoom routed Ancient 13-3 and took Mirage 16-14 in overtime, behind Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko's 57 kills and 88 ADR. The MongolZ beat Aurora 2-1 with Usukhbayar "910" Banzragch recording 53 kills, and Nemiga swept Legacy 2-0, surviving a 48-round Ancient that finished 25-23 — the longest map of the day.
Three more series ended 2-0. FURIA beat DENDELE (Ancient 13-8, Inferno 13-11; Danil "molodoy" Golubenko had 42 kills and 90 ADR), Vitality beat 9z by identical 13-10 scores on both maps, and FUT beat TYLOO (Nuke 13-9, Ancient 13-6), with Aulon "Krabeni" Fazlija's 96 ADR the highest single-series mark of the day.
The tournament runs October 24-31. The top eight teams from the Swiss stage advance to the playoffs, and results also feed the race for invitations to the PGL Major in Singapore. Round 2 is played on October 25, with pairings including NAVI vs FURIA, Vitality vs The MongolZ, FUT vs Liquid, BetBoom vs Nemiga and Spirit vs TYLOO.
