HOUSTON — The New York Giants upset the Houston Texans 27-21 in overtime at NRG Stadium on Sunday afternoon in Week 7, winning as 10-point underdogs. The Giants improved to 4-2-1 and head into their bye week leading the NFC East, while the Texans fell to 2-5. GSM earlier today previewed this matchup.

J.J. McCarthy, making his first start for the Giants, completed 20 of 28 passes for 252 yards. New York rushed 34 times for 188 yards with four different ball-carriers scoring on the ground: Tyrone Tracy's 2-yard run opened the scoring, Jameis Winston added a 1-yard sneak, Cam Skattebo scored from 16 yards in the fourth quarter, and Devin Singletary delivered the overtime winner. Malik Nabers caught seven passes for 111 yards.

Houston tied the game 21-21 with 52 seconds left in the fourth quarter on C.J. Stroud's 3-yard touchdown pass to Xavier Hutchinson. Stroud finished 17-of-28 for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Tank Dell, playing his first game since December 2024, caught a 43-yard pass and added a 14-yard punt return, and Ka'imi Fairbairn kicked field goals of 57 and 58 yards in the first half. The Giants outgained Houston 420 to 237 but nearly paid for Dominic Zvada's missed field goals of 44 and 56 yards.

In overtime, Houston went three-and-out after edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux dropped a near-interception. Skattebo — who had no touches last week as punishment for fumbling, and finished with 17 carries for a career-high 124 yards — then broke a 42-yard run to the Houston 30, and on the next play former Texan Singletary ran 30 yards for the winning touchdown, ending the game 2:35 into overtime. The Giants are on bye next week, while the loss further dims Houston's postseason hopes.
