Timberwolves Rout Raptors 117-94 for 3-0 Start: Anthony Edwards Scores 26 as Minnesota Wins Third Quarter 35-15

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota — The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Toronto Raptors 117-94 at the Target Center on October 25 to open the season 3-0, with all three wins coming by at least 20 points. Minnesota led 32-21 after the first quarter and 55-47 at halftime, then blew the game open with a 35-15 third quarter that made it 90-62 heading into the fourth.
Star guard Anthony Edwards scored 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting in under 28 minutes. LaMelo Ball, limited to about 17 minutes by foul trouble, still had 15 points and eight assists, and Minnesota outscored Toronto by 33 points during his minutes. Terrence Shannon Jr. added 15 points on perfect 3-for-3 three-point shooting, Jaden McDaniels had 14 points, six rebounds and three blocks, and Rudy Gobert grabbed 13 rebounds. Minnesota shot 56 percent from the field and 48 percent from three.
For Toronto, Ja'Kobe Walter scored 22 points, RJ Barrett 20 and Immanuel Quickley 19. Kawhi Leonard was out, and fellow core player Scottie Barnes went 0-for-12 and scoreless — only the second scoreless game of his six-year NBA career. Toronto shot just 38 percent as a team and fell to 2-1.
According to local reporting, Minnesota is only the third team in NBA history to win its first three games of a season by 20 or more points, joining the 1962-63 Boston Celtics and the 2004-05 Utah Jazz. The Timberwolves visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 26, while the Raptors host the Orlando Magic on October 28. (Reporting based on Sportradar final data and Minnesota local media)
