Pharmaceutical Microbiology Conference Opens in Washington on October 26

The 2026 PDA Pharmaceutical Microbiology Conference will be held in Washington from October 26 to 28, bringing together microbiology professionals, quality leaders and regulatory experts from the pharmaceutical industry. According to the attendance announcement issued by the organisers, life sciences automation company Rapid Micro Biosystems will attend as a sponsor and showcase its Growth Direct platform at booth 101. The company's president and chief executive, Robert Spines, said more and more top pharmaceutical companies are featuring fully automated microbial quality control in their conference presentations, reflecting the rising role of automation, digitalisation and data integrity in critical quality operations. This year's conference exchange topics include the modernisation of microbial quality control, the evolution of regulatory perspectives and the application of emerging technologies in actual production. PDA, the Parenteral Drug Association, is one of the longest-established industry organisations in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical field, and its microbiology annual meeting is usually regarded as an important occasion for sterile manufacturing and quality control personnel to exchange practical experience. Washington also welcomes the first day of early voting in election season in the last week of October, and hotels and transport in the city are expected to be busy during the conference, so attendees need to plan their trips in advance. The conference lasts three days and closes on the 28th.
