Philadelphia Mail Ballot Applications Close at 5 P.M. on October 27; In-Person Service Still Available October 26

Monday, October 26, 2026 · City · GSM News

Philadelphia's City Commissioners reminded voters that the deadline to apply for a mail ballot for the 2026 general election is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, and that Monday, October 26 is the last full working day before the deadline. Voters can submit applications online, by mail or in person; the County Board of Elections office in Room 140 of City Hall offers in-person mail ballot services from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Ten district satellite election offices across the city likewise offer registration and in-person mail ballot services, and voters can complete the application, ballot collection, marking and return in a single visit. Pennsylvania does not have in-person early voting on machines in the traditional sense, so the in-person mail ballot described above is voters' main way of voting early. Mail ballots returned by voters must be received by the county board of elections by 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3; a postmark does not count, so voters close to the deadline are best off using a drop box or delivering the ballot in person. The City Commissioners also reminded voters that they can find the full list of satellite offices and a map of ballot drop-off points on the official website. Applications can still be processed on October 26 itself; after 5 p.m. on the 27th, no new mail ballot applications will be accepted.
