Shapiro Campaigns in Pittsburgh, Says Pennsylvania Is Prepared for Voting Challenges and Urges Voting on November 3

Monday, October 26, 2026 · City · GSM News

Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, saw a campaign stop on October 26: Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said at a Pittsburgh campaign rally that Pennsylvania is prepared to meet voting challenges from the Trump side, and urged voters to remember the voting power in their hands.

Shapiro told the rally that voters should elect leaders with conviction who defend basic rights and improve lives, and that a big win in Pennsylvania would be enough to shift the balance of power. The rally was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday and drew a relatively limited crowd; State Senator Jay Costa acknowledged at the event that the key swing races are concentrated in eastern Pennsylvania, and that western voters campaigning for candidates elsewhere matters just as much.

Pennsylvania's fall contests involve control of the U.S. House and state Senate seats, and Election Day is November 3. The deadline to apply for a mail ballot in Pennsylvania is 5 p.m. on October 27; completed mail ballots must reach the county elections office by 8 p.m. on November 3, and a November 3 postmark alone does not count; voters can look up their county elections office information at Vote.PA.gov.
