New Orleans Transit CEO Finalists Meet Residents on the Evening of October 26; Three Finalists Answer Questions in Person

Residents of New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, can meet the three finalists for chief executive officer of the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority on the evening of October 26; the community meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at First Grace United Methodist Church, 3401 Canal Street. The meeting is hosted by Ride New Orleans, in partnership with the Committee for a Better New Orleans and the City of New Orleans; residents can hear the three finalists' visions for New Orleans transit and ask questions in person.
That same evening at 6 p.m., New Orleans City Council District A will also hold a budget town hall at Cabrini High School, 1400 Moss Street, hosted by Councilwoman Aimee McCarron.
The transit board's next steps are set for 10 a.m. on October 27, when the board will first hold an executive session to discuss the CEO candidates, then publicly vote to select the CEO, and approve planning for accessible streetcar fleet standards for the St. Charles line. Organizers said the transit CEO choice bears on the daily operation of New Orleans transit service, and residents' questions at the meeting before the appointment are a direct channel for taking part in transit decisions.
